Scar Camouflage

Scar Camouflage

Scars can change both the color and texture of the skin. At Toriabel Aesthetics®, we develop a treatment plan to help reduce their visibility, with realistic expectations for what each approach can achieve.

We work with healed scars following mastectomy, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), body-contouring surgery after major weight loss, and other procedures. We also assess scars from burns, self-harm, and injury. Each scar is different, so a consultation is required to determine whether treatment is appropriate.

Scar Camouflage

Scar camouflage uses carefully selected pigments to reduce the contrast between a healed scar and the surrounding skin. It is generally considered when color difference is the main concern. The goal is for the scar to blend more naturally—not to erase it or promise a perfect skin-tone match.

Inkless Scar Revision (ISR)

Inkless scar revision (ISR) is a form of collagen induction therapy that uses a specialized serum without adding pigment. It may help improve the texture and appearance of eligible scar tissue. For some thicker or uneven scars, ISR may be recommended before considering pigment camouflage.

Your Treatment Plan

During your consultation, we assess the scar’s age, color, thickness, texture, and surrounding skin, along with your health history and goals. Some scars may benefit from ISR, pigment camouflage, or a staged combination of both. Darker or raised scars may need a different approach before pigment is considered.

Treatment requires multiple sessions, and some scars need a longer, staged approach. Improvements develop gradually. We discuss the expected process, aftercare, and limitations during your consultation so you can make an informed decision and know what to expect.

Improving the appearance of a scar can be personally meaningful. We provide private, trauma-informed care and give you room to make informed choices about your treatment.
