A faded eyebrow tattoo may shift to an unflattering color. A tattooed lip contour may no longer suit the look you want. Whether the tattoo is older or was applied recently, the right approach depends on the pigment, the tattooed area, and your skin.

At Toriabel Aesthetics®, we assess unwanted permanent makeup on the brows and lips, as well as select small body/fine line tattoos. Treatment may involve color neutralization or pigment lightening, depending on what is appropriate for the individual tattoo.

Color Neutralization

When healed permanent makeup has shifted to an unwanted color, carefully selected pigment may help neutralize that tone. Adding more color is not always the right solution, particularly if the existing tattoo is too dark or saturated.

Tattoo Lightening

For eligible tattoos, we use a professional saline-based procedure to help lighten unwanted pigment. The tattoo’s appearance may change as the area heals. More than one session is generally needed, with time for the skin to heal between treatments. Complete removal cannot be promised. Once an overly saturated brow tattoo has been lightened sufficiently and the skin has healed, we may proceed with the intended brow tattooing or a Color Boost without removing all of the original pigment.

Emergency Tattoo Pigment Removal

If a recent tattoo or permanent makeup procedure did not turn out as intended, contact us immediately. Emergency pigment lightening is ideally performed within the first 72 hours—the sooner, the better. We assess the area before treatment to determine whether it is appropriate. Treatment within this window does not guarantee complete removal.
